Kick off your FNCE week with your Diversify Dietetics community! We're bringing together educators, professionals, and students of color and our allies to meet, mix and mingle. No other event at FNCE will bring together this much diversity, and you know you won't want to miss it!

Don't forget to bring your business cards (that includes you, students and interns!).

This event will be held in the Historic Equitable Building, just a 10 minute walk from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Heavy appetizers, good music and the most fun you've ever had with a group of dietitians will be served!

Washington, DC Educators Workshop- Recruiting, Retaining, and Supporting Diverse Dietetics Students: The Critical Role of Educators

In this interactive workshop, we'll walk you through innovative strategies to increase and promote diversity in your dietetics program.  Learn from nutrition and dietetics educators who have implemented creative strategies aimed to increase the racial and ethnic diversity of the students and interns in their dietetics programs. 

The workshop location is just 1 mile from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Earn 5.5 CEUs.

2018 Back2School Meetups!

Who doesn't like a good pep rally to get them pumped for the new school year?! Join us for a meetup with fellow dietetics students, interns, mentors, professionals and educators from right in your city!! Meet people of color in the nutrition and dietetics profession and other dietetics professionals who are  excited about Diversifying Dietetics. Your Diversify Dietetics hosts will be sharing details about resources, programming  and events planned for the Diversify Dietetics community for the 2018-19 Academic Year. 

If you're part of our Mentor Program for the 2018-19 Academic Year, this event would be a great time to meet up!

Sometimes knowing what NOT on your dietetic internship and/or grad school application is just as important as knowing what to do. Dr. Joan Salge Blake is going to share some intel on common (and often innocent) mistakes students make that negatively affect their chances of being accepted to a dietetic internship program. You may know her name as author of your Nutrition and You textbook, but Dr. Blake is also a phenomenal nutrition professor and dietetic internship director at Boston University (amongst other things- check out her full CV here.) Dr. Blake has seen a few hundred (thousand??) applications, and will be talking all about mishaps that can make your application go sideways real quick, and how to avoid those mishaps!
