About Us

Spicerack Health is an early-stage start-up company, founded by a dietitian, providing culturally competent telehealth nutrition counseling. Our mission is to provide healthcare that reflects the cultures, lives, and people we serve.

About the Role

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor for a remote telehealth counseling role. This role is perfect for a dietitian looking for flexible hours, independence, and remote work while making a meaningful impact on patients’ health.

You will be joining the company in its infancy and therefore will have the opportunity to help shape its nutrition services. You will also have an opportunity in the future to transition into a full-time role (clinical or non-clinical) depending on your work history, performance, and career interests.

This role will specifically be our in-house expert on Mexican foodways and culture. You should expect to counsel patients from all cultures, but primarily patients that have traditionally Mexican diet preferences and/or prefer to speak Spanish during their visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual one-on-one nutrition counseling sessions via a secure telehealth platform.

  • Document client interactions and progress in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.

  • Stay current on nutrition research, telehealth regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Offer culturally competent and inclusive nutrition counseling tailored to diverse populations.

  • Collaborate with coworkers to develop and improve patient care processes and company offerings.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

  • Preference for Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois.

  • All levels of experience encouraged to apply. Preference for 3+ years’ experience in outpatient counseling or telehealth.

  • Conversational fluency in English and Spanish.

  • Strong working knowledge of Mexican foodways and culture.

  • Comfortable using telehealth technology and virtual communication tools.

  • Ability to perform duties with limited clinical supervision.

Compensation

  • Compensation is $50–$55 per completed billing hour, depending on experience.

  • Required meetings, trainings, and other approved non-client responsibilities will be paid separately at a negotiated rate, depending on experience and agreed upon non-client responsibilities.

Benefits

· Remote-first company

· Set your own hours

· Will cover costs of additional state licensures, as needed by the company

· After 6 months of employment, receive CEU reimbursement, up to $200 per year
