This position is based in Orlando, FL, supporting the dietary and nutrition needs for our Medically Tailored Meals and Bring Hope Home programs.

Job Summary
As a team member of Health and Hunger Strategies, the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist will be providing nutrition assessments, education and nutrition counseling throughout our service area within Central Florida. The RDN will also work closely with the Health Initiatives team that coordinates the medically tailored meals program and home delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide nutrition therapy to participants enrolled in the Medically Tailored Meals program
Provide nutrition counseling to individuals and groups through various methods
Provide support to achieve and maintain accreditation through the Food is Medicine Coalition, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures, reviewing of dietary menus, creating education materials, and meeting with program stakeholders.
Assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive nutrition assessments using ADIME for patients diagnosed with chronic disease related to their needs for therapeutic meals
Meet with MTM partners to provide updates regarding patient care and program status
Collaborate with staff to ensure menus are compliant and patient approved
Provide nutrient analysis for menus and health specific food boxes when needed

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition science, Dietetics or nutrition related field with an emphasis on community nutrition, public health and/or nutrition education
Current active required licensures and registrations (State of Florida and Commission of Dietetic Registration)
Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance
Experience in developing nutrition education materials
Experience reviewing dietary menus and making suggestions in collaboration with other team members
Ability to maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with patients, program staff and community partners
Comprehensive understanding of the field or industry, including theories, practices, and emerging trends.
In-depth technical/subject matter knowledge with an understanding of the organizational impact of work.
Proficiency in tools, systems, or software related to the role (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Medical records)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to explain information to various audiences and stakeholders with particular attention to culturally diverse needs
Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and minimize errors
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret relevant data to make informed decisions
Ability to break down problems to find and take actionable solutions
Ability to work independently to manage multiple tasks and/or projects in a timely and efficient manner
Ability to effectively collaborate with various teams and stakeholders
Ability to lead initiatives/projects, resolve complex issues, and implement improvements
Preferred qualifications
Bilingual Spanish/Creole preferred
Master’s degree in nutrition sciences, public health or related program
Experience with electronic record platforms (i.e., Salesforce, Healthie, etc.)
