DD Summit 2025 Session: Kitchen Conversations: Addressing the Nutritional Concerns as a University Dietitian
How do you properly provide nutrition education to a college population consisting of over 40,000 students? Each of them carries a unique identity and face various hurdles throughout their academic career. As dietitians, we know it is important for young children to eat well in order to perform well in school; however, college students tend to face more barriers that make eating well (or at all) more difficult, such as time, financial constraints, and inadequate cooking space. These factors are compounded for our graduate and international students.
Learn how a university dietitian is tackling and addresses the various concerns of the student body. From cooking classes to food pantries, this session will focus on the interventions and collaboration efforts across campus. The presentation will also discuss how food and nutrition can easily intersect so many our preexisting campus partners and organizations. This will be done discussed during a cooking demonstration!
CEUs are only provided on the full DD Summit recording package. Learn more here.
