Dietetic Internship Application Support Program

Designed with you in mind…

Our DAS program has been created to help you showcase your unique strengths on your DI program application!

Applying to and successfully completing a dietetic internship can be a major obstacle for students of color, and is one of the barriers to diversifying our profession.  To support students at this important step in their educational pathway, we are proud to offer our Dietetic Internship Application Support (DAS) Program!

This program provides application preparation support to BIPOC students who are participating in the DICAS Match or who applying to a pre-select or coordinated program, or Future Education Model Program. This course is an asynchronous, on-demand program, that has been developed by experienced dietetic internship program directors, preceptors and academic advisors- all of whom are especially passionate about supporting BIPOC RDs to Be.

This program is offered at no cost thanks to the support of the donors of the DD Community. We would also like to give a special thanks to Rebecca Valdez, MS, RDN, who developed the webinars and supporting worksheets.

DAS program resources include:

  • Personal Statement Writing Course

  • Interview Prep Video and Worksheet

  • Resume Guidance

  • Way to Prepare Financially for the Dietetic Internship

  • Letter of Recommendation Template

  • DICAS walkthrough tutorial

  • 2023-24 Open House Listing

  • Direct links and explanations to ACEND resources

  • and more!

Volunteer for the DAS Program

We always recruiting dietetics educators and professionals who are familiar with DICAS and the dietetic internship application process who can assist students as Dietetic Internship Application Support (DAS) Volunteers.  A DAS Volunteer is paired with a student who requests one-on-one support beyond our online programming. DAS volunteers assist with resume and personal statement review, virtual interview prep, and similar support. You can learn more and sign up to volunteer here.
