Step into this high-level role, responsible for directing the operations of our Dietetic Internship Program.

Oversee and actively participate in the recruitment, selection, enrollment and orientation of dietetic interns, nutrition fellows, clinical nutrition staff and management. Plan program curricula and budgets. Support the professional growth of our program participants by providing feedback regarding their performance and development. Participate in activities focused on the credentialing, competency assessment and in-service training of program faculty. Conduct program evaluations and oversee quality/performance improvement initiatives and research. Provide on-going review and development of program policies and procedures. Prepare program reports and coordinate program-related communication with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Interpret regulatory agency requirements and standards related to education, training and competency assessment of dietetic interns and program faculty to ensure ongoing compliance.

Required Criteria:

  • Minimum of seven years progressive work experience in hospital dietetics

  • Minimum of three years as a faculty member of a dietetic internship program

  • Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college/university or foreign equivalent and completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics

  • Completion of an ACEND accredited/approved Supervised Practice Program in Dietetics

  • Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field from an accredited college/university

  • Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

  • Certification by the State of New York as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist
